We made it!

We're finally here. I feel like we've been goin non stop until just now. I've finally been able to sit down while Sydney takes a nap. WAHOO! Sydney did just fabulous on the plane rides though. She tried to sleep all throughout our first flight to Salt Lake and then actually slept on the drive to Orem. We had fun being able to see Grandma, Barry and Amy in Utah. Although I barely slept at all with Sydney so close at night, we were up and ready to go even earlier then we planned Wednesday morning. Sydney slept for 45 min on our flight to Dallas and was actually pretty good between snacks, waving at everyone on the plane, and Baby Einstein on the plane. Afterwards we waited to pick my mom up who flew in an hour later, but Sydney was still a trooper! I feel really really blessed. She did however have a small meltdown once we finally got home and she needed to take another nap... but she did fall asleep. And slept all night last night and is asleep again. I love my little sleeping angel and am really excited for her to get to do some fun things while were in Texas now that I've been able to breathe and catch up on my sleep as well :)! BTW, I forgot my camera memory stick and was really sad... but Andy went to Best Buy and picked a new one up, so pictures will follow.

House Party!!!

I'm super excited that I was finally chosen to host a Shutterfly House Party... haha. Most people might think it's lame to be so excited... but I applied last time they had one and was turned down :-(. It just happens that the week I have to hold it during is right between my trips in May yes! And... as Andy can tell anyone I love Shutterfly. Every time I discover a new feature or something he's lucky enough to get my five minute long shpeal on how great Shutterfly is. I don't need to get paid to advertise for them because I just love the services they offer and like to be able to make photo creations. Plus the coupon codes I buy on Ebay to make it super super cheap... thanks to Sarah for telling me about them :). Anyway so my party is gonna be on May 18th at 6 PM. YES! I'm still thinking up all the cool things I can do and show people. Plus everyone who comes gets free Shutterfly stuff! Sooooooooo........ if you're reading this and wanna come ... let me know! PS I didn't send invites to those of you who don't live near me because I figured you couldn't... But if you wanna fly/drive in, haha, I'll definitely get you one ASAP. Here's to photo books and a better way of preserving your photos, videos, and memories for years.

Lack of something extraordinary...

I'm feeling like I haven't posted in a while.. however every time I come to the blog I try to think of what to write and can't think of anything that you would be overly interested to hear. So here's to just a random update. It's less than two weeks til our "vacation" saga begins and I'm getting nervous. Sydney survived her first really really sick sickness... and mom survived cleaning up baby throwup. (She got roseola... is that how you spell it?) I feel like I'm hitting more of a stride while training and really starting to enjoy swimming laps... more than the other two I think. It's finally warm and Sydney has discovered that she'd rather be outside... which is nice sometimes, unless I want to get anything done!  And.... other than that, I don't know what to say except for I'm feel really really blessed lately. It seems like it has been a hard few weeks and there are so many people around that have been there to help me :). This past year I have made so many friends and even though La Grande is a just a transitional place for us... it has been the best place to be for my first year as a mom. My ward is so friendly ... thanks to all of you who are reading this. I love being able to just show up at someone's house when it's been a long day and have someone to talk to. The La Grande MOPS is an amazing group of women that I hope to keep in contact with for a long time when we leave this town. It's bitter sweet because I'm excited to move on and be more established however, I can't help but feeling like I'll never find another MOPS group that will be as friendly and welcoming and well organized as the one here :/. Finally, my triathlon team! I am still getting to know most the women... but for not knowing anyone it is so nice to have someone from the team recognize me, pull over on the side of the road haha, and just chat for a while. This has happened several times believe it or not. The support and encouragement they offer is really the only reason I'm doing it because I'm not much into racing for the heck of it. Go Team S.W.E.E.T.!!! and thanks for becoming instant friends and inspiration for me to train and do something hard :)

Easter Sun

April is a busy month for our family. We had my birthday on the 1st which was awesome.. thanks again for everyone's birthday wishes. Andy's on the 4th... which was also fun! We always have two separate events since neither of us want to share a cake :). Mostly do to the fact that Andy wants double fudge chocolate brownie turtle bliss cake and I ...... dont. This way however I can save some of my cake and eat it at his party so I don't miss out :)! Then we have Easter. This year easter fell on Andy's birthday. We had a good time watching conference and grandma's. In the morning we had a little egg hunt for Sydney and put cookies and marshmallows in her eggs... she loved the cookies and tasted the marshmallows and then immediately took them out of her mouth and stuck them on random items around the house! :) It was really cute.  The nwe settled in for conference. I've always really enjoyed being able to sit and watch conference. After Sydney was first born it was easy because she was like a week old, however in October... I really felt like I missed out because she required so much attention. However, this time her nap fell right during the 2nd session each day and that was awesome!!!! Plus Andy and I each took a day to watch her during the morning session. I have to reiterate what Jen said, conference really helped me to reprioritize and make new goals for being a mom and family this year. There were soooo many talks about family and how we can improve our relationships. I can't even count the number of things I wrote down about how to improve in those areas. I'm really grateful for that and the challenge I have to be better. For those of you who don't know me very well... I LOVE TO SET GOALS... I love it even more when I feel like I can check one off my list. So here's to goals... and our being a better family :).
