Oregon Coast and Texas

Alright so from June 23-28th we stayed with Andy's fam at a beach house in Lincoln City. While there we played at the beach, went to Tillamook Cheese Factory, had a shower for Amy, and a cribbage contest. (Which I won having never played before!) I'm just getting around to posting a few pics out that. Immediately following that we went to Texas again for Andy to finish his commercial licenses. Which he did! We were in Texas for about 3 1/2 weeks. We got to see Emily's new little guy, Will, Audrey and her family before they moved to Colorado Springs, and Paul for the 4th weekend and Sarah and her kids for two whole weeks! It was a whirlwind but we had fun. Sydney learned a million things especially about all things girl from her cousins and came back more little girl than baby. She now loves brushes, purses, dolls, shoes, hair and.... blocks, airplanes, puzzles, stuffed animals, chalk, outside, and magnets.

7 days and counting...

Here's to my new background... For those of you who don't know, I'm doing my first triathlon in exactly one week! I participated as a team back in June and did the swim leg at the Xterra Solstice and next Saturday I'll be doing the whole thing myself at the Luna in Portland. I'm excited. Andy has been such a trooper with all my practice and really supportive when he had to go to work late and babysit at night so I can go train. These last few days back home have been crazy too with uniforms coming in, a practice Tri yesterday (which was almost the full distance and I did in just about 2 hours YES!) I'm not even sore today :). YES! And a lake swim this morning. I'm planning on doin an easy jog next week, trying out the bike I'm renting, and going to the pool for a short swim to work on 'sighting' but other than that I feel good! So I've got my background to keep me motivated and excited... wish me luck!!

On Monday Andy passed the other half of his Multi-Engine Commercial checkride. SOOOOOOO..... we're halfway there! However it looks like the weather in Dallas will be bad until next Monday so we have to wait another week to start the rest of the training :/. He'll start school on Monday and take the checkride a week from Saturday. Wish us luck :)
