Toddler Logic

While I was mopping this morning, Sydney was unloading the dishwasher. She said, "Momma, these forks are still wet." I told her it was ok and to dry them off. Next thing I know I look over and she is licking all the utensils. When I asked what she was doing, she replied, "Drying them off." I couldn't help but laugh. How does that make sense? I'll have to be more careful when I let her unload the dishwasher from now on :D

Firsts

Wynn had his first cereal a few weeks ago. He loves it and gets upset if he sees any of his spoons and bowls, and we don't feed him now. He has been able to switch to two naps most days since the transition too. He's also began to scoot and roll around so our house will be baby proofed very soon. Any guesses on how long until he gets the army crawl down?

Sydney got to paint her walls for the first time. We had one little mishap when she turned into the wet wall but she thought it was a lot of fun :D. Its a surprise what the final product looks like. Pics to come...

Neglected Events

Andy and I occasionally take pictures on our phones instead of our other camera. Here are some events that missed getting blogged due to the lack of pictures.

Wynn loves to hand out the smiles. This quality isn't good, but its one of the first ones I got on camera. 

 

She wants everyone to come see this with her.

 

Our house has a decent size backyard. This is what remains of the old smokehouse we tore down. Sydney likes her marshmallows. :) 

 Wynn has developed quite the full head of blonde hair.

 Sydney is getting better and better at artwork. She loves to paint and color. She has progresssed so now she paints specific areas certain colors.

 Wynn and Sydney both love outside. While we were fixing the hot tub, they got a lot of outside time. I found this scooter for Sydney on Craiglist, and she loves it.

 On the rainy days, we've been going to the indoor park quite a bit. Sydney is getting better at trikes and kicking balls. Wynn loves the tiny slides and doing the teeter totter with Sydney.

 For my birthday, I got a double jogger for this summer. Its not he best pic, but the canopies actually pull all the way down on both sides so it can block sun in the front too. I've already used it a bunch and it'll be really useful this summer.

Whenever Sydney is watching something, Wynn is immediately drawn to the TV. Nemesis loves the kids and always tries to be wherever they are so in this case, Mickey Mouse wa a family affair while I made dinner.

I can't get enough of that little tongue. I always wanna grab it. Wynn loves to stick it out and smile :D.

Always changing

With summer rolling in and the first cruise ships set to dock this weekend, Juneau has come back alive with the hustle of summer... and that means Andy has to work more to keep up! So its just been me and the kids a lot lately, but with the change of the seasons, we can get back outside and enjoy everything a Juneau summer has to offer. In the past few weeks we've gotten back out to the park several times. Wynn had his first swing experience and liked it. Sydney has made some strides physically over the winter and can almost ride her trike by herself, can use a scooter, and is a lot better at running, jumping, and swinging on her own. She's also given up napping... but occasionally she still falls asleep during her quiet time surrounded by her toys and books. Wynn is so close to sitting on his own; he has the strength, but not the balance. He loves his exersaucer and to try to sit. He is not content to lay on his back for very long. If you put his on his belly he tries to scoot, but hasn't quite figured out how to dig his toes in the ground, so I have to put my hands behind his feet. Then he get WHEREVER he wants to go! Just a few more weeks I'm guessing and he'll be sitting on his own :D. He is also getting more vocal and throws some consonants in every now and then. I love his cute little tongue that he is always sitting out when he smiles. (If you are reading this on a phone, please go the actual web page to see videos at end :) )
