Oregon Vacation

It had been so long since Sydney had seen her cousins on Andy's side of the family that she was a bit overwhelmed when we arrived on a Sunday evening to a house full of nine cousins ready to play! She didn't take long to warm up however and both kids had almost non stop fun for the past ten days. They are obviously missing the company today. Sydney and her cousin Lincoln have looked very similar since they were babies, so we got quite a few pictures of the two of them together. Sydney learned about playing star wars and wrestling quite a bit while we were away and she loved it! Wynn learned to walk significantly better (trying to avoid tripping on the toys scattered across the floors) and showed off his cuddly "ham" personality. It was fun to be able to catch up with all our family. We even got to head over to Boise and see Andy's nephew get sealed in the Boise temple. The kids did great going there and back in one day and got to see even more family. We didn't get a ton of snow, but enough to play in a few times. Sydney cant stop talking about all the things we did at Grandma's and is already asking when we get to go on a big jet and go back :)

Christmas Time

This year we flew to Oregon for Christmas, but had a little family Christmas at home before we left too. Sydney has become well versed in all things Christmas and made sure we didn't forget anything she wanted to do. We sang lots of Christmas songs, watched movies and made hot chocolate/cookies, and even made homemade snow globes (My idea :)!) Wynn had more practice at opening presents and seemed more excited about the mysterious boxes than he had on his birthday. We watched a few shows and read a few books. It seemed that Sydney may have started to understand Jesus' birth story this year too. When Christmas morning in Oregon finally came, Sydney was really prepared, having practiced just the week before! We had a fun day with family opening gifts, eating, playing and visiting. More to come on the rest of our trip!

Swim Lessons

Sydney took swim lessons this past month before we left for Christmas. She was very nervous for her first class, but soon warmed up to her teachers. She will try more new things for the teachers and was excited to learn how to "dive" and do a "front glide." She's really coming of her shell the past few months and its fun to watch her develop.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

We celebrated Wynn's birthday with just our family. Sydney was SO excited! Her teachers said she told them all about his birthday at school in the morning. She helped me wrap the present she picked out for him when she got home. And then decorated it herself. We made a cake and she did the sprinkles without any assistance. She literally put a whole bottle of sprinkles on top :). Wynn was confused as to be expected... but I think he liked the attention. Apparently he prefers ice cream to cake because as soon as he saw our ice cream, he wanted nothing more to do with his cake and wanted ice cream instead. Sydney helped open presents... a little more than Wynn wanted, but all in all it was a fun good night! Cant get enough of this cuddly, lovey, happy little man. A few milestones: at one year, he can saw mama, dada, ball, and sss for Sydney. He walks all over, he climbs up and down on lots of things, he still nurses 3x a day, he eats about 5 times a day but doesn't gain any weight... he's average height, starting to use a spoon, likes to dance and try to sing with Sydney, he can stack two blocks, he sleeps 12 hours a night and takes one or two naps, he LOVES blankets and hugs, he hates to be alone, he doesn't like to be left out of playing or eating and screams if he is, he doesn't like coats or the cold and loves soft shoes, he likes water, he loves peek a boo and is ridiculously ticklish under his neck. Happy Birthday Wynn!
