Andy was out of town taking his Airplane Mechanic certification test on Easter (which he passed and we are so happy for him!) so we did our festivities early. The kids had a ton of fun decorating and finding their eggs and the weather held out long enough for us to have it outside! I figured we'd do the Easter story on Sunday night without Andy, but Sydney was so good to remind me about our traditions of the "resurrection eggs" that we have been doing for a few years. We have a kit of plastic eggs with an item related to Christ's death and resurrection in each of the eggs that they get to open and we discuss its meaning with them. I was happy that she remembered and wanted us to make sure we talked about the real meaning of Easter. We had a nice day and got to eat dinner and visit with friends on Easter Sunday while Andy was out of town.

Apparently I missed posting about Andy and our birthdays so I'll celebrate mine being a month ago by doing it! We had a busy few days, but I spent my birthday taking a nap, letting the kids go to the play center at Fred Meyer so I could shop fora jacket that actually fits and then getting my haircut. A friend watched the kids on Andy's birthday so we could go to dinner and a movie. I felt kind of bad that our birthdays were such a party because Sydney was SO excited. She wanted to decorate and have people over and asked my why we didn't really do anything on our birthdays. Its hard to explain how its just not he same for grownups :/. Andy likes to get me a bunch of fresh cut flowers for holidays and let me arrange them however I like. This kids helped pick out tons for this birthday so it ended up making two arrangements! Here's to another year :D
