Terrain Race 2017

I thought I'd already published the pics of this event back in June! My friends and I went over to Portland to do the Terrian Race again this year. We dressed up as Disney princesses and had a ton of fun. It didn't even rain this year... so they forced us to get more muddy and wet by starting the race in a pool of muddy water! We had a fun time and went line dancing after we got cleaned up after our race. That really took me back to high school... Andy and I are training for the Spartan race in Portland in a month so this race was a good precursor to help me know what I need to work on still. Its fun the challenge myself and try new things. We're hoping to be able to go every year as a group and keep doing the terrain races and have a girls weekend. I'm grateful to have such a fun, adventurous group of friends here and look forward to next year.

Water Play

We've been beating the heat this summer by playing at the water park and rivers all the time! We bought a family pass this year to the Pendleton Aquatic Center and have been going once a week. The kids are getting so independent in the water and having fun playing with their friends. Sydney can fully swim now and was so brave to even try out the high dive at the pool. Both Sydney and Wynn are also playing soccer this year. It's been a busy fun summer so far and we're looking forward to seeing Sydney in the Wizard of Oz play later this summer too.

Sydney's Memories of Second Grade

I found this post I had Sydney write, but never published so these are her thoughts!

On the day before the last day of school,we did a clean-up.We wiped our desks, and I think we played a outside game.Yes, we did.We got a dixie cup. There was a bucket full of water for #2 teams. We had to fill the dixie cup with water, and run to a cup across from us, dump in the water, and run back. When our cup was full, we win!!!!!When we win, we jump up and down for joy!!!!!!!!We also yell: YES!!!!!WE WON!!!!

One day, my teacher, Mrs.Wheeling, turned our classroom into camp super s'mores!!!!!!!At super s'mores, we wrote: HOW TO MAKE A S'MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved second grade.
