Fiddle Week

The kids elementary school does a cool program every few years where they bring in a fiddle instructor who does a fiddle camp with each class every day for a week. Each child gets their own painted fiddle to work with and they get an hour of instruction everyday. Both kids really enjoyed it. Sydney especially excelled at it and was able to keep rhythm and strings pushed down at the right times so she stayed in time and tune her whole solo. I was really impressed. Earlier this year, she had asked to join the fiddle club at school, but I thought she was too busy. I think we will make time next year.

Wynn did awesome too. He was kind of shy at first but he gathered his courage and did great when it was his chance to do his duet with the instructor as well. He had a natural rhythm and I think he enjoyed it.

Basketball

Wynn and Sydney got to play basketball this winter and have enjoyed their teams. Wynn got to make lots more baskets this year and got the hang of dribbling a lot more. 

This was Sydney's first year. One of the things that impressed me with Sydney is how much she supported her team. She cheers them on the whole game. She also has really worked on passing to her teammates and trying to block her person. She has worked hard and we are proud of her.
