Mt Hood

Our main family vacation this summer took us over to Mt Hood. It was amazingly beautiful and reminded us of Juneau! The kids loved all the berries we found. They got to try thimbleberries and salmonberries. We played for a day at the Adventure Skibowl, and the kids got to ride the karts down the alpine slide track on the mountain. Another day we hiked into Veda Lake to do some fishing. We also went to visit the historic Timberline Lodge and rode the 'magic mile' ski lift to the top to see the skiiers in August. On our way home we stopped to buy some fruit in the fruit stands near Hood River and got some delicious treats! 

Leavenworth

The McNeills came to visit and our first stop was Leavenworth, WA. I have heard a lot about this sleepy little German town in central Washington but never gotten around to trying it out. It was super fun! We ate gingerbread, looked at the cute houses, floated down the river, and had a German feast for dinner. It was SO MUCH FUN! We always love our time with the McNeills, and this definitely was one for the books :D.
