Spring soccer

Wynn and Abby loved spring soccer this year! Both of them improved a lot and made good friends. Wynn's team took third in his age group, and he is very proud. They don't keep score yet for Abby's group. It was a great season.

13th years for Sydney

We finally had Sydney's birthday party! She had an Egyptian themed escape room with her friends. She has made some good friends here and they have made her transition to middle school so easy. We are really blessed that we were led to the particular ward and school boundaries we live in.

Snow day

Our biggest snow storm of the year came on April 12th. The kids got their only snow day. I'm told it was the first snow day in 6 years!!! We got about 18 inches in 24 hours, but it was more the winds that kept them out of school. Andy was traveling with work so the kids and I were on our own to dig ourselves out. Even with the snowblower it took two hours!! 😭😲

Bob Berry

Andy's uncle Bob Berry passed away on April 1st. He was 91 years old. Our family had a special relationship with Bob. He was always kind to our kids, spent time talking to them when he visited Oregon from Alaska, and created special memories when we visited him, Curtis and Nikki two years ago in Moose Pass.
It was very special to go to Alaska and be there for his funeral. We went with Maxine, Vic, Brent and Kim. Bob married Vic's older sister Carol when Maxine and Vic were still children, so their children were Andy's cousins from both sides. It was awesome to be able to get an insight to both of Andy's extended family sides at the same time. They are fixers, problem solvers, pack rats, dessert and waffles with ice cream loving people. They also had similar features to Andy. I really enjoyed being there and learning about their history and family. Andy and I don't know much about his aunt Carol Shinsel, and were able to learn more about her.

We had ice cream 3 times in one day and talked until late in the night (The Alaskan sun doesn't give any indication of when it's getting late and before we knew it, it was midnight.) We enjoyed playing Liar's dice with the whole family and meeting more family at the service.

It was a very special time and I am very grateful for the experience. We love Bob and are looking forward to seeing him in heaven.

Andy

Andy had a birthday! He got to celebrate with a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. Andy is such a fun dad who is always making the kids laugh, patient and kind. He's a keeper.
