Oh my Goodness

Sydney gets more and more expressive every day. Today she shocked me with two examples of how she picks up on everything. We were walking through Walmart and I wasn't paying much attention when suddenly I hear, "Dangit, mama." I turned to find she had dropped the paper she was holding. Oops, I really didn't think it would be that hard to stop saying certain phrases but I am still trying Sydney to sound like a teenager when shes three. About an hour later we were home and Sydney was helping me with the groceries when I heard her say, "Oh! My goodness." Now that I don't say... the only person I know who says that is Papa Shinsel. Ha... ever since that she's been saying it about every 5 minutes. The best part was when she said, "Oh! Where'd my goodness go?" Which confirms that she really has no idea what the phrase is for. I think its so funny that she thinks 'my goodness' is an object of some sort. Anyway, I guess our goal of watching our mouths just moved up a notch on the list :).

  1. Ha, I love that she thinks "my goodness" is an object, that's too cute! We miss her already!

  2. Hilarious! Lincoln does the same thing. He likes to combine the phrases "goodness gracious" and "gosh darn it" to make "darn it oh gracious." Watching language is so hard...I thought I was being good for not saying "crap" and "suck!"
