The pictures explain it all, but this year we flew with the company to Tenakee, Alaska via seaplane to celebrate the Fourth of July. A small town of about 60 people, a fishing village, and a community hot spring/bath house are what keep this place on the map. I think it will probably become our annual tradition because we all had such a good time. I had never experienced "small town America" quite like this. A tiny parade, pinata, foot races, "fishing" for toys, slug slinging, good food, and the genuine place and people made it a winner. My only regrets are that they ran out of Salmonberry ice cream after our second round and that I didn't bring a bucket to pick the hordes of ripe red, orange, and yellow salmonberries that were all around. I'll know better next year!
I promise they are not raspberries and they taste very different!
Sounds like a very fun 4th of July! I love how you guys are having all these new fun experiences. I also love the pictures!
