Ears

I love the story these pictures tell! We had told Sydney she could get her ears pierced when she was eight, but then this last weekend when we were at the mall in Boise, I couldn't resist the urge as we waited for Andy in front of a Claire's store. She was super excited and very brave. She got slightly concerned between ear one and two but now she is so happy. She looks at her ears constantly and tells everyone she sees about how she got her ears pierced. It is so fun to watch her grow up and see her likes and interests develop.  I find myself having to glance twice at her more and more often as she is starting to look SO GROWN UP. She is a loving, beautiful, smart, and sensitive little girl. She is becoming very in tune with her emotions and I am so proud of the way she is learning to communicate and make choices for herself. 

When we were choosing earrings for her to wear after she can change them, I was surprised that she wasn't interested in any of the flowers or hearts I was pointing out. She settled on sea creatures with googly eyes and ice cream cones. She loves fun colors and sparkles so those fit her best I guess! We love you Sydney and are so blessed to get to see you grow up.
