Goals

Today Sydney and Wynn presented their primary program at church. The primary program happens once a year in sacrament meeting. The children sing all the songs they have learned in primary throughout the year and share something they have learned from the lessons. This year's theme was "Choose the Right." Sydney and Wynn both talked about baptism and the things they have learned about that.

As I was pondering my own learning in Primary this year, I think the thing my testimony has been strengthened in the most is how much the Lord knows each of us individually and how to guide us back to him. In my life, I struggle to feel connected to him everyday, and stay focused on the things that matter in the long run.. Its hard for me to remember to say sincere prayers that aren't rushed and really communicate when I pray to him; when I do this well, it's easier to remember what I'm really working for and prioritize my life accordingly. As I have worked and struggled to improve my communication with God, I have learned about the atonement and become more and more grateful for how patient he is with me. He loves me so much that he will still help me and be waiting for me to come back to him even if I fail again and again to improve the different areas of my life I am working on.

Its amazing to be a parent and see your children come to know him, struggle, learn to rely on him and develop their own testimonies and strengths. I was so grateful and proud of Sydney and Wynn today for learning their parts and sharing what they know. I am happy to see that they keep trying and I get to be there to help them celebrate their successes along the way.
