Thanksgiving
Although pictures will be to come, I've decided to post about our trip in Texas so far. The trip here (about a week ago) was kind of hectic. All was fine on our drive to Portland and Sydney went right to sleep in the hotel however at 315 AM the alarm went off! Someone person either rudely pranked us or forgot to hit the off button instead of auto. Anyway, it scared the heck out of Sydney and she screamed for two hours before going back to sleep. That night she only got about 9 1/2 hrs of sleep compared to her usual 12-13, so the next day was kind of rough. She did take an hour nap before we had to leave before the airport but that is definetely not enough for her. By the time we got to Dallas she was done and we were exhausted! Since that though she has really enjoyed seeing all her cousins again. One of her favorite activities has been going to see a Christmas Tree Light Show/ Water Fountain light show. She LOVED LOVED LOVED looking at all the trees and running around naming the light colors, she also loved playing the water fountains after the show. (Remember its anywhere from 60 to 80 degrees here depending on the day). Last night we went to dinner in the same complex as the water fountains and she screamed for the water the whole time... I don't think we'll be going around them again if she can't play. For Thanksgiving my mom's sister and her family drove up from Austin so we had a full house. Dinner consisted of three tables in order to fit everybody, but it was good! I even convinced them to provide me cake and ice cream in addition to pie as dessert :). Everyone has left now but our family so its quieter. Everyone in the family caught colds/coughs, so we're needing more sleep and not getting it. But despite the exhaustion we've had some good times. Andy and I were able to go to the Dallas Temple yesterday which was awesome. We haven't been back inside since we were married there. It was really nice of my parents to watch Sydney so we could get away and relax a bit. More to come.. Happy Holidays!

Half Anniversary
On Saturday I was looking at my blog and noticed my marriage ticker... it was our half anniversary! Ha.. We didn't even know but decided to celebrate. After much deliberation and wandering around Wal-Mart, we decided to buy a bunch of different flavored marshmallows and roast them in our kitchen over our stove. It was fun to do something different. Seems weird that we are coming up on 5 years... I feel like a completely different person then when we got married, but could it really have been so long!
This picture was taken soon after we got engaged. I even feel like we look a lot different (even if Andy's hair didn't change every few months ;)

Fall Leaves
Last week was kind of a rough week. One day in particular I was having a hard time entertaining Sydney when I got the bright idea to play in the backyard since it wasn't too cold. Sydney loved helping me rake up the leaves. Since the rake was too heavy for her, I just got a dust broom from the garage and we made big piles. She wasn't too keen on climbing through them but she loved picking them up and putting them in the bags. She actually was a big help because she'd get a whole bunch at once. We didn't clean the whole yard, just the main mess from our maple tree but I'm sure we'll be out again once the other two trees finish falling their leaves!
PS... I took these with my camera on my phone... apparently its pics are too bad so I'm excited!

Big Bed Update
Sydney has been taking to her big bed like a champ! Its been over a week now and we haven't had any problems, even during the really loud Halloween party! I'm sure the day will come but for now it seems she thinks that when its dark she can't get out without help. Even though the rest of the day she climbs up and down at will. Here are some pics. There are also some fairy decals on the walls, but I'm not done with the new curtains and getting stuff organized on walls and dressers so I'll leave you in suspense for the 'whole room look.'

Halloween 2010
This year our Halloween festivities included decorating sugar cookies twice! (I didn't get any pics), making a Halloween gingerbread with Grandma (she has the pics), drawing on pumpkins and giving them faces, and trick or treating. Sydney was Minnie Mouse because she loves all things Mickey and Minnie. We took her downtown to trick or treat but it was really rainy and cold so that didn't last long. She was really confused about the whole thing, especially at the trunk or treat we went to after. But once she got a few dum-dums in her system she really started to enjoy it at home! We also had a grown up Halloween party at our house Friday night. It was so much fun because everyone dressed up and we played all Halloween themed games. You'll get to see a group shot of the below too even though its not way good.
