Fruits of Spring

Last fall we planted the 200 bulbs I had ordered from the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm over in Woodburn, Oregon. It was super fun for me to watch them come up and bloom in layers this spring and see how it turned out! I loved it. They came up shortest to tallest and at the end we had four to five different types of bulbs all layered amongst each other for several weeks. Now I'm looking for early summer bulbs to plant just behind them so we can have color even longer!

Lily

Meet our newest addition to the family! Lily is the sweetest bunny and loves to be held. She is very social and curious and we all love her 😁

Norwegian Joy US Inaugural

We took an early anniversary trip to Long Beach and were able to go on the US inaugural of the Norwegian Joy. We had fun walking all around Long Beach and eating tons of dessert before we got on the boat. It was a nice ship with a fabulous room. The extra activities they had were fun and we are bummed that they are usually extra. I don't know that we'll be doing many NCL cruises but it made for a great anniversary long weekend and we're grateful Grandma and Papa were willing to watch the kiddos so we could go! 

Dad's Birthday

Andy's birthday this year included eating out at the Asian fusion restaurant where he loves the candy sushi roll and then coming back to our house for presents and a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake I made him. He said it was delicious so I guess that's good ;)

Mom visits

On our way home from the coast from spring break we picked up Grandma pack in Pasco at the airport. She and Sydney got to have a special grandma daughter date and went shopping for Sydney's birthday. We went back home to our house the next day and had fun playing with Grandma for a few days. She even got to be here on my birthday. We always love when grandma comes because she makes everyone feel so special and we get to do lots of fun things; the kids think it's just a big party! We are looking forward to seeing her again soon with the rest of my family this summer.

Easter

Thiss year we colored eggs with shaving cream and then Andy let the kids paint his face they had a lot of fun. our extended family was out of town so we had friends over for Easter dinner and I got to cook everything myself since they just moved. I was super grateful for all the help I got from Andy and the kids and we had a good time. We are so grateful for our savior who died for us and the opportunity to celebrate his resurrection that gives us opportunity together forever.

Spring Break 2019

This spring break we took the kids to the last section of the word coast we haven't yet explored as a family. We started by spending the night in Portland and visiting a super awesome superhero themed restaurant and then taking the kids to the state capital in Salem next day. We were able to see Sweet falls write a dune buggy across the dunes drive down to see the redwood Forest of Oregon and of course play on the beach. This was our first experiment was staying in a yurt at a campsite. We stayed at Sunset Bay State Park. We were so grateful for a heated yurt after playing in the beach and being cold or on those cold spring winter nights. It was also great to have actual beds and I definitely think we'll try it again. We had a good week together and now we know our favorite places to go in the places we'd like to go back to sometime. last but not least we stopped at the tulip farm in Woodburn again this year however because it's been so cold there weren't really any flowers we'll have to go back another time.

Amy's Birthday Surprise

Mom got to be with us for my birthday this year which was a special treat. Andy also planned a super fun birthday party surprise for me. It was a cake potluck and he invited my closest friends to come and celebrate with me. They each brought a different cake and none of them were chocolate! My favorites were the orange dreamsicle cake Andy made me and some Mt. Dew cupcakes from my friend Britney. It was a great surprise and I felt very special. Thanks for all your planning and hard work. I had a great birthday.
