Amy's Birthday Surprise
Mom got to be with us for my birthday this year which was a special treat. Andy also planned a super fun birthday party surprise for me. It was a cake potluck and he invited my closest friends to come and celebrate with me. They each brought a different cake and none of them were chocolate! My favorites were the orange dreamsicle cake Andy made me and some Mt. Dew cupcakes from my friend Britney. It was a great surprise and I felt very special. Thanks for all your planning and hard work. I had a great birthday.
The Big 10
Sydney wanted to have a pet adoption themed birthday this year :), like mother like daughter I guess. We had fun choosing out the stuffed animals for her friends to adopt and the activities they would do. They had name tag, collar, leash, and blanket stations to make things for their new pets. Then they got to do some relays with their new friends and finally we had a pinata. I was super grateful for my friend Emily's help since helping 10 girls with crafts was definitely more than I could handle all by myself. Sydney really wanted to everyone to eat like a dog or a cat when they had their snack after school when they arrived. I didn't know if the other girls would want to participate in that but it turned out they loved it and were full of giggles the whole time. We had a good time.
Sydney continues to love music and develop her piano and vocal skills this year. She is looking forward to participating in more musicals this summer and continues to read up a storm. She has become really helpful around the house and is learning how to babysit and help me cook meals. We sure love her and are really proud of how hard she tries. Never lose your confidence Sydney; you are amazing!
